Traditional woodwork and carving is one of the richest handicrafts in Afghanistan.
Introducing Masoud, a master carver at the Turquoise Mountain Institute for Afghan Arts and Architecture in Kabul. Masoud was born in Kabul but spent the first 10 years of his life in Pakistan. On returning to Afghanistan, he finished high school and enrolled in the Turquoise Mountain woodwork programme. Today he is a master of his craft and a specialist in the traditional art of jali.
