Sultan Guyaseddin assumed the throne when his father, Alaattin Keykubat, was poisoned and killed. But he is not as adept a statesman like his father. This leads to the increase of Mongol repression in the Kingdom. Celaleddin Karatay plans to prepare a great resistance against this oppression of the people. Celaleddin Karatay, prepares for the resistance with all the experience and power at his disposal and recruits and inspires the young and old, women and men of Anatolia to rise up against the Mongols.
