The Caliph sits with his assistants and consults them about the issue of Upper Egypt, which has had no judge for seven years. One of them suggests to him the name of Shaykh Ibn Daqiq al-Eid to take the position of judge. He refuses at first, but then his shaykh convinces him to accept the position.
